St Mary’s Cathedral Wedding

The most recent wedding SvenStudios Darwin Wedding Photography received the opportunity to shoot was for a couple at St Mary’s Cathedral in Darwin. The St Mary’s Cathedral Wedding day began with the easygoing atmosphere as the groom and the groomsmen prepared for the day ahead. On the other side, the bride and her bridesmaids were also preparing for the day ahead without showing any signs of nervousness.

St Mary’s Cathedral is located in central Darwin and features a unique arch design throughout the main chamber. The Cathedral is lined with indigenous artwork with was very important to the bride and groom as they both have connections to the local Tiwi islander community.

After the traditional Catholic ceremony and family photos, SvenStudios Darwin Wedding Photography and the newly married couple headed out for glamour photos in front of the Darwin Botanical park and then towards Lake Alexander and East Point to take photos amongst the red rocks and cliffs that line the beach to take advantage of the landscape.

After returning for the beginning of the reception, they left once again to drive to the Nightcliff area for sunset photos that featured one of Darwin’s famous sunsets. The night carried on for the reception that was hosted out on the lawn that featured a beautiful sunset with the beach lining the venue. SvenStudios Darwin Wedding Photography was able to successfully capture the breathtaking landscape for the newly married couple.
