One way that you can detect water leaks is by placing one to three drops of food coloring into the toilet tank. Wait for 15 minutes. You have a leak if the water in the toilet bowl changes color. One of the major causes of leaks is an old flapper. Decayed flappers must be replaced immediately to address the problem.
