Committed to upholding its local growth, Direct Components Inc. earned a spot on one of the most prestigious lists of growing businesses in the Tampa Bay area.Every year, the Tampa Bay Business Journal issues an updated list of the 50 fastest-growing local businesses. This year, Direct Components Inc. made the Fast 50 list. Since it also earned a place in the top 10 section, this year’s distinction was especially celebrated by the company. This year’s winning companies represented several industries. Some of the most common types of qualifying businesses were civil contracting companies, technology startups, marketing agencies and restaurants. To qualify as an honoree on the Fast 50 list, a business must be a for-profit company. It must be privately held and must be headquartered in the Tampa Bay area. To make the 2019 list, a qualifying business must have had a revenue of at least $1 million in 2016 and at least $5 million in 2018. When the total revenue increases were tallied among the 2019 candidates, their cumulative revenue growth was $2.8 billion. For the period between 2016 and 2018, that growth represented a 78% increase. According to data gathered from the qualifying companies, they had a total of 8,397 employees. Of that number, about one-half of the employees were local to the Tampa Bay area. Aaron Nursey, CEO of Direct Components Inc., was thrilled to see DCI earn this distinction. After he learned that the company made the list, he issued a statement to his team to clarify that he credited them with the hard work. “DCI Team, this award of the top 10 fastest-growing companies was presented today to Direct Components Inc.,” Nursey said to his team. “It was not presented to Aaron Nursey.
