Warning #1: Water damage

Warning #2: Mould and moss growth

Algae, moss, and mould can be found in damp, shaded areas of your roof. Tiles could be forced apart and creates a gap that lets water in. Inspect your roof regularly can prevent the growth and reduce the risk of rotting and further problematic mouldy areas requiring a roof replacement.

Warning #3: Light coming through your roof

Light coming through into your roof is a big sign that it may be time to repair your roof. Examine your roof for any streams of light shining through and determine if repairs could fix the damage or if infact an entire roof replacement is needed.

Warning #4 Sagging

The top of your roof should follow a straight line along the ridge if there is a sag in the middle, it may be a warning sign of structural damage and might cause your roof to collapse if not detected and treated early.

Do You Need A New Roof?

As you can see, an early roof replacement isn’t necessary if you don’t put off roof repairs. You need to check the interior and exterior of your roof regularly to make sure it is not displaying any of these warning signs: mould, sagging roof, water damage, damaged tiles, aged roof, moss, debris, or damaged lead flashing.
